Beginning a New Journey

Tomorrow, I am embarking on a new personal journey. A part of me is excited - for the unknown - and the other is scared. The 'unknown' is often intimidating; what if it's hard or scary or out of control? It is this very thing that often keeps me from moving forward. But this time, I am excited to see what the future holds.

It has taken me quite some time to come to this point; a point in which I can trust that all things will work out for a greater good, so I need not fret over the small and insignificant moments that so often consume my thoughts. One of the greatest sources of strength has come to me through this devotional:

He is My Mighty Rock

'My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge.'

~Psalm 62:7~

Lord, You tower over my life. Your presence intimidates my enemies. You are my refuge during times of trouble. When I experience days of doubt, I climb onto Your rock of refuge. I stand against the wind and view my fretting from new heights. I see You crush my worries in the shadow of Your strength. I need not be afraid.

Your are my safe place, Lord. I rise to sit on Your shoulders when I feel small. I lean against the weight of Your power and restore my strength. You are my security at all times. God, my life requires Your authority. I want You to reign over my days. Help me build a spirit of perseverance and a character of honor on the foundation of Your goodness.

(Devotional taken from One-Minute Prayers for Women)

This verse and these words give me strength. When I begin to feel small or insignificant, and scared I need to look to the Lord for the strength to persevere. This is where I am at tonight. As I embark on this new journey, I am trusting that Jesus will give me the strength to emerge triumphant! That is my prayer.

If you are experiencing hardships or the same moments of uncertainty as I am, I pray you can also find comfort in these words.

Please share your thoughts and feelings about this as well...I love hearing different perspectives!

Enjoy!
